Here in La. you early vote at the Registrar of Voters office in each Parish. The lines were long here 2 weeks before the election. No glitches here, no matter the race of the voter. It went smooth as silk.Of course, Richland Parish isn't exactly over populated.

Doesn't that graph kind of prove my point? Kids that don't read good and want to do other stuff good too tend to get more government assistance. Therefore it would suggest that lowered education, or at least scholastic ability, would be strongly correlated with poverty. However, your graph does not use race in any manner.

That means they are faster at ATM machines than at retail stores. They take about four times as long to complete their transactions when they have to separate them into Louisiana Purchase portions and cash portions. At one point in time you could look for beer, wine or liquor in a shoping basket when choosing a cashier line, but now that is no guarantee they won't ring up two, or more, separate transactions based on payment method.

Then you must be black or hispanic

As a white male they moved me to the front of the line as soon as I walked in the door.

That's a big reason. I vote at a fire station that has two precincts 4 voting booths (2 each). One precinct is 85% white, the other 1% white. I walked past two dozen people waiting to vote and went straight into a booth. When I asked the poll worker why there was a difference in the lines. She told me that the number of workers & voting booths assigned aren't based on the # of registered voters, but the number in that precinct that had voted in previous elections.

Plus, some names take longer to spell and copy into the voting rolls, just sayin'

But honestly, if you calculate the time it took to vote as compared to the price paid per vote by the democratic party street money machine, could the party be in violation of the minimum wage laws?

Most live in heavily populated areas, meaning more people to vote in one location.

Not really, all things being equal it would depends on how large precincts are and how many machines are dedicated to a precinct as well as voter turn out. Also the type of ballots being used, punch cards and paper ballots slower than mechanical or electronic machines.

In urban areas blacks generally have a large degree of control in elections, in NO our sheriff and registrar are black, the commissioner of elections is white, most of the board is black. It is illogical to assume the blacks in power are creating adverse conditons in black precincts.

Do blacks take longer in the machines, at the punch cards, filling out ballots? Do they have more problems presenting ID's and signing the rolls, do they chit chat longer with the election workers, are they more likely not to know how to open the curtain and just walk out with oot completing the process? yes, yes, yes, yes
