| Yes. You should tighten your abs when squatting in order to retain good form and don't use a belt unless you absolutely have to. I rarely use a belt until my last set or in competition. Reply Back to Top |

| I'm not using a belt...the program I'm doing has you doing 10 sets of 10 at 50% of your 10rep max and then three sets to failure at your 10 rep max...so you are never handling extreme weight (although it feels heavy at the end for sure)...the ten sets of 10 are done at 10 seconds rest.
