| ASOIAF : 4th book : A Feast for Crows... audio book changed the reader listening to a song of ice and fire in audio, and the first three books were read by a guy who did a damn good job. now the fourth book is being read by someone completely different frick that. just screwed up all the characters i had in my head. changing how their voice sounds, changes how i perceive their character. hate when audio books do this Reply Back to Top |
| damn that frickin sucks. you should read the books too Reply Back to Top |
| Who is reading it? John Lee? Reply Back to Top |
| Another reason why the fourth book sucks monkey balls. Reply Back to Top |
| Quit being from Arkansas and read the motherfricker Reply Back to Top |
quote: yea it was john lee after some research, apparently there's been quite a bit of debate about this. even going as far as to make a petition to get the guy who read the first three, Roy Dotrice, to read the fourth one as well LINK. And now it looks like Roy did make a reading of it LINK Reply Back to Top |
quote: audio >>>>>> reading plus i can listen and work but not read and work. don't have the time to sit and read and make it through these books at the rate i want Reply Back to Top |
| it's cool. as long as you have interaction with the books, it's fine with me. i can see how the audio would be advantageous Reply Back to Top |

| This. I can't listen to audio books in the background. I only do it if I've read the book before. I need to focus on the book to follow it, and find myself rewinding to catch something significant if I try to multitask. Reply Back to Top |

| I drive a lot doing the work I do. Driving and walking, alone. Excellent time to listen if you ask me. Better than the radio or music I'd be listening to otherwise Reply Back to Top |
quote: Lucky you I got mine through a torrent so I'm not complaining to much. Gonna research later to see if I can't find the 4th book read by dotrice Reply Back to Top |
| When you get through listening and end up in the crackpot thread you'll have your mind blown every other post simply because there is no way you've caught half of the important events. But whatever floats your boat. This post was edited on 2/4 at 1:53 pm Reply Back to Top |
quote: doubt it. but i may be surprised. people take in information differently. for me, i find i can follow along better listening than reading Reply Back to Top Refresh |
