| re: Homeowners Insurance? Cost to rebuild the 150k home was 204k according to USAA. USAA- $1427 a year. Farm Bureau- $1172 (but have to have car insurance with them and it's much higher than USAA is.) Waiting to hear back from a local insurance agency. It's located in Arkansas. Reply Back to Top |

quote: $1,500? $2,000? I don't think I'd be comfortable doing 5k like some, that's a little too much for me. Reply Back to Top |

| Will do, I'm assuming people rarely get to make a claim on a house? Would think I would use my auto insurance more often. Reply Back to Top |
quote: theory is that you aren't going to file the small nickel and dime claims. Not saying to go higher deductible, but I certainly do if I feel the premium warrants it. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I have USAA for my homeowners so I'll throw this out there for comparison. We have a 3,434 sq foot house in Houston that was built in October of 2010. We are the first people to live in the house. We pay $2,305.20 a year (195 a month) in premiums. The dwelling is covered to $386,000 and personal belonging inside are covered to $193,000. USAA will not let you go less than half of the value of your dwelling on the personal belongings. I have auto insurance and personal property (jewelery) with them. I don't think your quote sounds all that high. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
