Homeowners Insurance? Posted by wegotdatwood I called USAA and felt it was pretty high. They quote me $123 a month for a 150k home, 1k deductible. My vehicles are also insured through them. They did it based on cost to rebuild (204k) Reply Back to Top
Generally it will drop your auto insurance as well. I have my vehicle and renters through them... Vehicle is 105 a month before I had renters .... Now I have renters and Vehicle and it costs me 101 a month... Reply Back to Top
Pay $600 year for insurance on rebuild value and all valuables inside the home, including electronics/computers/iPad/iPhone etc... Rebuild est is 425k. that is solely for home ins., but is coupled with car multi and wife's company discount. Reply Back to Top

I have my car insured with them, but Homeowner's was just too high. I also have a car loan with them. USAA is great, so easy to deal with. Easiest loan i have ever gotten Reply Back to Top
quote: I have auto, homeowner's, jewelry and life insurance through them. For homeowner's, I pay $1100 per year, but I have a higher deductible - $5500. Cost to rebuild my house: $300K. This post was edited on 1/28 at 3:17 pm Reply Back to Top |
$890/yr - $700 deductible - No named storm deductible either. No clue what the rebuild cost on my home would be. If it was a total loss, I'd move anyways. Reply Back to Top
So do most do cost to rebuild or cost of home? Reply Back to Top

For USAA, their homeowner's coverage helps one rebuild their home based on current construction costs. Reply Back to Top

what they do is they'll pull credit report from one of the bureaus{soft hit} but another factor to determine premium is age of the home, stick with the $1000k all peril deductible Reply Back to Top
Best I found was $120 for a $260,000 rebuild value with an earthquake exclusion clause. $5000 deductable I think. The house is 33 years old, the roof is about 12 years old. Louisiana or along the gulf coast would be much higher than what I pay. Other than living in tornado alley, nothing unusual about this area that would justify a higher costs. We occasionally get winter storms that take a few trees down, but nothing major. This post was edited on 1/29 at 9:26 am Reply Back to Top
That does sound high, but how old is your home? That obviously makes a difference. Reply Back to Top

That policy would cost like $3200 in New Orleans with much higher wind deductibles. Reply Back to Top
| they will quote and insure based on the cost to replace the building. this is done because property can be purchased for more or less than what it cost to build the thing. they come up with this figure using cost estimators based on the construction, size, location, and interior details of your home. with some other factors sprinkled in I'm sure. they might reduce it some if you ask.
