How much will GameStop give me for a PS3? Posted by wish i was tebow I have a PS3 that works fine but I literally never use it. It's one of the original ones with a big hard drive Tia. Thinking about maybe getting a vita or holding on to the credit until new consoles come out Reply Back to Top
I will give you $50 more than they will. Reply Back to Top
They'll probably give you 60% of what they're selling them for. Reply Back to Top
If it plays PS2 games, first version PS3, its worth more than you paid for it. Geeks are all over those units. This post was edited on 1/12 at 6:34 pm Reply Back to Top

Posted by sbr2 on 1/12 at 6:47 pm to wish i was tebow You might want to sell that to someone and not trade it in. Reply Back to Top |
I'd try selling it on craigslist for a while first. Reply Back to Top

So why wouldn't I just take it to GameStop then?? Reply Back to Top
I had a buddy take an original PS3 to Gamestop and got $59 for it. I was pissed cause I would have given him at least $100. Reply Back to Top
The average Buy It Now price on eBay is $250-400. Reply Back to Top
How can you tell if you have a first release? I know I got mine early, but I can't remember exactly when. Reply Back to Top
1 Look at the number of USB ports on the front of the console. If your PS3 has four USB ports, it's probably a model with backward compatibility for PS2 games. If it has two, it is not. 2 Check the back of the console for more precise information about your model. There will be a label that includes your PS3's model number. The model number begins with the letters CECH. You have backward compatibility for PS2 games if the model number begins CECHA, CECHB, CECHC, or CECHE. All other models are incapable of running PS2 software. Reply Back to Top
Put in a PS2 disc and see if it plays. or If it is a 60GB or 20GB fat PS3, it can play PS2 games, if it is an 80GB model ONLY the CECHE01 model number can play PS2 games. Look at the model number. Reply Back to Top
