7th grade argument at best. If soldiers didn't have automatics, they wouldn't kill so many people. Civilians deserve all types of weapons including automatic guns, tanks, and womd IMO.

Come on roaad. This is a lame point to bring up.

Do you seriously think this is a gotcha moment?

To have an intelligent discussion one needs to not bring up obviously stupid points. Or it makes it look like all our side has is stupid points.

No.

Stupid. AR-15 type weapons and handgun magazines that make the pistol look like an Uzi are going to a thing of the past.

Deal with it.

People who have them already SHOULD be left alone. But go ahead and take them.

And for those who say they need arms to "rebel against tyranny" do you honestly think you would have a chance? Against the US military?

I am NOT anti gun. I own a shotgun and a 40 SW. My home would feel no safer IMO with an AR. Just my opinion.

Who needs a 50 round magazine for their Glock? If I WANTED one I am too cheap to load one.

As an individual? No.

However, no army on earth could occupy the United States, due to the large amount of civilian ownership.

The US army could. But you are right an outside army could not occupy. But with the size of our military if that were to happen the US would be rubble.

This is ridiculous. The bigger problem for foreign powers by far would be our military. The oceans on either side of us provide excellent protection as well. Civilian ownership would be a minor consideration.

Half of the US, yes. Reconstruction was a time of occupation. It could be done with our own military but that is it.

At the same time, make it so that only politicians can own apple products.

What if they are one in the same?

I respectfully disagree.

Occupation of an armed populace is nearly impossible.

Y'all think that the Iraqis and Afghanis gave us fits? Resistance to an invading force here would be fierce.

I FIFY since you want such limits it should only be applied this way.

quote:

For the military and all citizens no limit on fire power except for Joe Jew, no guns

Do you support that idea?

You have expose yourself as a bigot. Shame on you. It's a damn shame that whenever we have a political discussion that someone doesn't like my opinion, the religious card is played. I thought the TD rules ban religious prejudice or personal attacks. If so bannage is the only option or this proves the rules mean nothing.

I feel the 33-round G17 mags are a little ridiculous - however, it is not a universal opinion and it is really none of my business as long as they obey the law with it.

Just curious - how many rounds is "enough", or "too many" in the magazine, in your opinion? And who decides? How will the number be changed in the future (should the need arise), if we go down this path?

Sorry, couldn't resist. After jamming Glock mags without a thumb saver I don't want to think about jamming 4x 33 rnd mags. I will say I would just carry a machine pistol rather than a glock with a yardstick for a magazine.

And I'm likely going to stock all G22 magazines for spares, but those even look a little goofy sticking out of the bottom of a G27. I am trying to move the family to a single platform for sidearms, and although I am a Sig guy by nature, I am a Glock guy by budget. I'm going with G23 as main gun, with G27 for CCW. I'm trying to convince the garrison commander to at least carry a G23 or G27 - her nightstand gun is a S&W performance center CQB .357, with 8 rounds in an unfluted cylinder and she's not giving that up. It takes moonclips, but I find them tougher to load than anything else I have tried, ever, ever.

Don't know. 15-17?

Only situation I consider is a home invasion or night time break in attempt.

And in those situations how many shots are needed?
After a couple the situation is probably over. You are dead, the bad guy is dead, or the bad guy is running for his life. To fire 30+ shots would be silly and probably involve you overstepping what is legal in defending yourself i.e. standing in your yard spraying bullets at a car or guy fleeing down the street.
