Wouldn't be surprised if JJ threw that game, no one makes those types of terrible decisions on that big stage, and that was JJ's opportunity to make $ b/c he definitely didn't have a pro career to look forward to...and then gets busted with the whole TM7 marijuana stuff...pieces coming together

The lost jobs, illegal and legal, would FAR outnumber any jobs gained. Any additional tax revenues would probably be offset by the increased unemployment and welfare benefits we would have to pay out, in fact I doubt the increased tax revenue would be enough to cover those. If you take a macro view you will see its not as simple as you think. Again...I would love for all drugs to be legal but it would not be in the best interest of the U.S.. I am probably the only person who thinks this way but I know I am on to something!

Do you have any idea how stupid you sound?

Yes, many times the government has created taxpayer-funded jobs for the sake of creating jobs. Whether or not that is a legitimate role for the government to have is an argument for another time, but if it's going to be done, there are many ways to do it. Why not put these people to work by funding a massive overhaul of America's crumbling infrastructure? Expand NASA and revisit space exploration?

What sense does it make to prop up an industry that promotes corruption, violence, and injustice for the sake of creating jobs?

quote:

Sure some new jobs would be created but most would be sold at existing stores like Wal-Mart and Circle Ks and they wouldn't have to hire more workers just because they added a few SKUs.

What on Earth makes you think that these things would be sold in Walmarts and Circle Ks? There will most likely be drug stores just like there are dedicated liquor stores now.

quote:

We tried that for a few years and it didn't work....we have tried outlawing drugs and it has proven that is does work.

What made alcohol prohibition different than drug prohibition? Alcohol was certainly more popular and accepted than drugs are, but the overall effects and consequences are the same. Alcohol prohibition didn't work and neither is drug prohibition.

quote:

If it truly was in the best interest of this country we would have done it a long time ago!

You are way smarter than this. Just like any other issue, corruption and politics prevents the best outcome from happening.

Ed, do I remember you saying you used to run with Cup?

I remember reading that, then reading that you said you were 20 or something. It just sounded like bullshite, and you were too young to "run" w/ anybody back in the day..

You sound well informed on what is considered "drug lord status."
