| First year won't be easy. Dreams will haunt you for years, but you won't see them as haunting. You'll welcome them because they make you happy. Years will go by and things will change in your life and you'll have things that trigger thoughts of your friend...you'll smile or your heart will sink depending on the thought, then you'll continue with your day. It gets easier, trust me. Let the easing of the pain teach you for losses you'll incur later in life because they will come and you'll have to deal with those as well. Reply • Back to Top |

| Good post, Swamie. The quicker you can move past the devastation of the loss and on to the celebration of their life, the better it will be. You'll always miss them, but hopefully it will become more "man, (friend) would have thought this was awesome/hilarious/interesting" and you will have a moment that makes you happy and then move on.
