Rex's unspoken assertion is that this country should be governed in strict observance of the popular vote in the presidential election, i.e. democracy. I was mocking him, pointing out that we do not now, nor have we ever been, a democracy.

Yes repubs are adopting Alinsky style tactics, calling the other side "mean-spirited" and using ridicule.

Wazza matter? Don't like it when it's used against your team? You don't have a monopoly on those tools.

Let's see how the defense contractors react when they find out that they are not exempt from penalties for failing to notify their employees of layoffs due to spending cuts from sequestration. Do you think they are going to all of a sudden start donating to the Democrats? That was just another campaign lie by Obama, and the Democrats, or is that an ADULT way to govern?

Have you bothered to ask yourself why all of the Republicans have accused Obama of moving the goalposts in the negotiations? There hasn't been a single Republican step forward and say Obama has been reasonable and willing to make compromises. Could it possibly be because the Republicans are telling the truth? We know Obama isn't above lying about other matters, why wouldn't he lie about these negotiations?

Rex what do you think we should do to tackle the deficit problem?

A few things:

- Most importantly, cut defense spending by about 50%.

- Cut Federal salaries across the board for anyone over $50k per year. Cut Federal pensions for anybody who hasn't reached social security eligibility age.

- Gradually raise the social security eligibility age from 62/65 to 65/70.

Obama doesn't hold all the cards. The only thing decided in November is that Obama's status as a pop culture icon matters more than economy, an for that matter the country.

why can't you just answer simple questions Rex?

Why aren't the Democrats willing to sharpen the pencil and reel in spending?

82 Billion is a long long way from 1.3 Trillion

what is your party's plan of Action?

You're leading the country...the ball is in your court and you talk about Republicans having Butt hurt over the President's tone?

Yes, he is very condescending sometimes and people take it as being disrespectful. If he is going to preach Balanced approach, then he has to deliver on the balance with in his party and their interest.

If Obama doesn't want to raise taxes on 97% of Americans then he has to take something away in order to fix the deficit.

Can't have your cake and eat it too... just sayin

Obama could get a lot more done if he weren't such an absolute cocksucker.

I saw the McCain critique... my linked blog captured his tone very fairly.

“But I must say, at a time of crisis on New Year’s Eve, when at midnight at least certain actions take place — or have to be planned to take place — we have a president of the United States go over and have a cheerleading, ridiculing of Republicans,” John McCain.

Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said on the Senate floor that the president's tone [in his afternoon presser] represented "heckling," and as a consequence, he "lost some votes" for a compromise deal. Soon after, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) also said Obama was too mean and made Congress feel bad.

What an ADULT way to govern!

If I were Obama I'd make sure those rude "You lie!" applauders would cry even more. Hit them were it hurts... make their defense contractor contributors think twice, for example, about sending more money to a party that refused to accept what the country decided in November and what is now officially costing them those precious high dollar contracts. I would also tell them that the demarcation line for tax increases has just been reset to $250k.

Obama holds all the cards. It's time he stops playing Mr. Nice Guy with jackasses who have held him in such conspicuous contempt.

You are just a troll with apparently not much going on for you. I cant believe people actually seriously respond to you anymore.
