I do as well. Pretty sure Villa were the first English club to suggest bringing back safe terraces. Reply Back to Top
I've read a good bit about this the past couple days and I support it. Reply Back to Top
Just realize at the end of the article they mentioned possibly introducing nets around the field to prevent incidents like the one on Sunday. I definitely do not support that. Reply Back to Top

I like the idea, I just worry about the timing of it, considering all of the press this year about Hillsborough. Reply Back to Top
@david_conn: And re @The_FSF standing campaign: Villa, their fans and their police want to trial a standing area, but not allowed. LINK Reply Back to Top
I don't know much about the subject, but are fans not allowed to stand in their seats at games? Or is this just trying to bring back standing only sections? Reply Back to Top
quote: I don't know about lower leagues, but at least in the EPL, every seat is a "seat", every seat has a ticket. Fans *can* stand, but usually, it's only the supporters' groups that do. Are you familiar with the Hillsborough and Heysel disasters? Those are what brought this about. Reply Back to Top |
I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around what they are talking about. Reply Back to Top
quote: Try to find the BBC article/expose about Hillsbourough. That should give you a better idea of what the standing terraces were. Reply Back to Top |
Uefa won't allow this so this is a non-starter...all seaters were required after the aforementioned disasters... Reply Back to Top
It's allowed in Germany for league matches. During European competitions, the seats have to be placed down. UEFA's rules on stadiums only apply to its competition. I guess the idea of long metal bleachers, as in American stadiums, doesn't really appeal to Europeans. Reply Back to Top
Whats the pros for an all standing area? Reply Back to Top Refresh
