| Exactly what Red Hawk is saying. This guy is an AD, and he's saying that they "promised him" and that it's enforcable in some way?? Give me a break. He even mentions he SIGNED an agreement with the Liberty Bowl that Tech would go to the Liberty Bowl if no Big 10 team was available. If that's the case, and the bowl later says "well, we're going to select you EVEN IF a Big 10 team is available" then you GET IT IN WRITING!! Would he stand for extending his coach's contract with a promise? "Hey, I know a lot of schools are sniffing you and would like to hire you. I'd like to extend your contract, coach. What you say we go to the doughnut shop, discuss terms of your extension making sure you can't leave for the next 5 years, and when we agree on terms, screw the lawyers. We don't need to document it in writing." Would he ever do that? Of course not. So now he's claiming "they promised us over the phone that they would select us"? Quite simply, he relied on an oral promise and didn't insist on a written agreement. That's stupid. He should be fired. (Also love how he throws the coach and school President under the bus too - "but we all agreed"! So it's not just my fault, it's lots of people's fault!) Reply Back to Top |
quote: A written statement? Cajun fans won't tell you, they're too busy being dipshits over this, but ask them what they think of written agreements with bowl committees. The irony of it all is the involvement of the Independence Bowl. Wink wink Reply Back to Top |

Posted by rumproast on 12/4 at 8:26 pm to Kickadawgitfeelsgood Hes spinning. Anybody who is halfway close to these programs knows that this had nothing to do with "timing". It had to do with the prospect of playing an opponent you have been trying desparately to duck. Sounds crazy, I know. But that's what this was. Everything you are now hearing is for the purpose of avoiding that fact. A big smokescreen.Reply Back to Top |
| The AD doesn't deny not wanting to play a Sunbelt or MAC team. Advocare backed the bowl committee into a corner with their preference of Ohio. Reply Back to Top |
quote: They'd get more money and practice time by playing a MAC or Sunbelt team. Instead, they can take their arrogance and superiority to their living rooms where they can watch bowl games instead of playing in them. Reply Back to Top |
| Dear Tech, You are Tech. The hot girl is not going home with you when the bar closes. Get any piece of arse you can get and be happy because you don't really deserve that. You are Tech. Reply Back to Top |
quote: quote: Advocare, whose CEO went to La Tech, wanted Ohio so badly the Indy Bowl invited Tech to be in their game twice last week. Yea, they were really backed into a corner. This post was edited on 12/4 at 10:52 pm Reply Back to Top |
