Posted by LaRon on 12/1 at 11:21 am to LSU Coyote quote: they released a video almost identical to this years ago. it was basically the first 2/3 of this video. but now they updated it to include the "official" 3 timeline theory that the creators announced after that first video was made Reply Back to Top |
| Music was absolutely beautiful! As for the timeline, I'm super excited for this. LINK Reply Back to Top |
| So, I got from the video that Nintendo made some awesome games, some of which were loosely connected, some more strongly connected, and then they put out this bull shite timeline theory to satiate a couple of nerds. I love the shite out of everything from NES to Majora's mask, but I don't need to have some kind of timeline made up for me. Each game was awesome in its on way. Haven't played one since Majora's mask though. Reply Back to Top |
| Most beautiful franchise ever in gaming. Their video on the timeline released awhile back is actually what put me on a Zelda kick for several months. Couple threads I've seen on here today are about to put me on another kick. I still don't understand how you can release possibly the greatest game of all time in Ocarina of Time and then top it with Majora's Mask (my opinion). I still find that insane to this day. | That was a great great video. Well worth the 40 minutes to watch it. I had hunches and guesses about the timeline (because it's never been a priority for me). Cool to know though. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Never really been a huge priority for me either. I've always treated the series like a Legend, just a bunch of stories retold in different ways. There have always been obvious connections like OoT-MM, but I'm content not thinking about it too much. Reply Back to Top |

| Okay, that was really cool. I haven't played most of those, but I really want to now Reply Back to Top |
quote: You're missing out. Depending on who you talk to Wind Waker or Skyward Sword will be mentioned as the best Zelda. Hell, if you are talking to me I'll even throw Twilight Princess into the discussion. OoT, MM, and TP are 1a, 1b, and 1c to me. Reply Back to Top |
quote:MM is my favorite. TP could have been really good, but I think the final boss was dumb. Should've gone a different direction. Reply Back to Top |

quote: I didn't own a gamecube and just recently have access to a Wii. May have to jump back in to it. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yeah, Ganondorf had no business being in that game. The Triforce doesn't remotely affect the plot and was not what the bad guy was after for the majority of the game. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I couldn't at the time and never played it. Currently the only thing holding me back is availability of the game. I'm likely going to just run an emulator and play it sometime in the near future. It is the only console Zelda since OoT that I haven't played. Reply Back to Top |
| WW really is great. The graphics put a lot of people off but the gameplay was definitely a standout from previous titles considering the vastness of the world map and the uniqueness of travel. I didn't get the opportunity to play Skyward sword until somewhat recently and I cannot believe how good it is. It's definitely in my top 3 for Zelda games.. So well made. The only thing that put me off was the controls - and it was the first real Wii game I played (sports don't really count) so I had a large learning curve. Related: Nintendo announced the next Zelda today, for the Wii U. It was already expected and has been in development for some time, but the announcement by the Nintendo Prez today was "official" .. I also heard that the Wii U Zelda has the largest dev team of any Nintendo game ever. I can't wait! This post was edited on 12/4 at 11:28 pm Reply Back to Top |
| Awesome video, but I'm still a little confused. Are the Link and Zelda who originally established Hyrule the same Link and Zelda in OoT, WW, etc.? I think it is mentioned that they are their descendants, but that doesn't make since either because they would be brother and sister? Am I looking at this all wrong? Reply Back to Top Refresh |
