Yup, Rem 700 Reply Back to Top
This is the best price I can find... about 100. Some go for 350 LINK Reply Back to Top
Glad it was the gun and not you man. Reply Back to Top
I hear you, could have been worse. I consider myself a very careful and deliberate hunter. Just goes to show anything can happen at anytime. Reply Back to Top
What kind of rifle? Stock replacement is easy. Just need to inspect then test fire the rifle to ensure proper function. I would do that by pull string though. Reply Back to Top
it paid off too with it being unloaded. I use to always climb loaded to cut down on noise of loading in the woods. Dumb and not worth it Reply Back to Top
Dammit that's gotta really suck Reply Back to Top
BTW, a quick search turned up tons of them. Reply Back to Top
anywhere from about $100 on up. I paid about $200 for a Macmillian and love it. Reply Back to Top
Holy shit, where did you find a McMillan for 200?! Reply Back to Top
Deacon, check out bell and Carlson. HUGE upgrade from what you had. Think they run 200-300. Check longrangehunting.com's classified section as well as eBay. Boyd's wood stook may require fitting and finishing and can be a real job. Better tackled during the off season. I've done one and it's fun(it's also not completely finished!). Reply Back to Top
Yea, listen to these guys, I know nothing about what I posted, just wanted to give you some price references. Reply Back to Top
Check out stocky's. Got a sale on bell and Carlson. Reply Back to Top
Come to think of it, is that s long action? I have a factory stock you can have if so. I would still order a replacement though. Reply Back to Top
My rifle fell out my stand this morning also while I was getting settled in. It fell over and landed straight up with the barrel stuck in the mud like a javelin. Luckily I keep a disassembled cleaning rod and some patches in my bag. Cleaned up the mud from the barrel real good and kept on hunting. Didn't see anything so I did not have to shoot. Cleaned it up real good when I got home and took a quick trip to the range. All is good. No damage. Guess I lucked out. We all need to be careful as stuff happens quick. Posted by TigerOnThe Hill on 11/23 at 9:42 pm to deaconjones35 Deacon, I feel your pain..... I would not expect a synthetic stock to break in half like that. How old is the stock? Is it the original stock that came on the gun? If it's the original stock, I'd send Remington an email and the pic of the stock. The gun manufacturers are some of the best in any industry when it comes to honoring warranty work or replacing defective products. If Remington doesn't bite, you can always guy a new stock. Replacing/installing a new stock is an easy 5 minute project you can do yourself. Reply Back to Top
You'd break too if his big arse fell on you. Reply Back to Top
Oh damn that gun must have hit hard.. I bet your scope is off. Sorry to hear about the gun. Reply Back to Top Refresh
