CURLING FTMFW.

In all seriousness though, sometimes. Although I'm a mediocre skier, I love skiing and love watching it. The Winter Olympic's is normally a little more progressive as well...more sports considered "extreme" sports included as the main events. I like them both equally. I just love the Olympics in general.

Winter sucks. Seriously I can't Stand any of it except for the American hockey team and only if they are good

I love the winter games (Skiing, Bobsled, speed skating - not short track, cross-country - it's actually pretty dramatic) but the broadcast is so ice staking centric for the female viewership (which I hate.) The summer Olympics are a better TV broadcast overall.

Winter sports seem more elitist than Summer. It's like you need a ton of money to play them. I'm unfamiliar with most of the Winter games so Summer is by far my favorite of the two.

I asked this question of some friends just last night, Most said Summer, I said Winter, but all agreed that Curling rocks, though they don't like Hockey, Bobsled, and Skiing events like I do.

Short track speed skating is the tits.

Not I. Winter is more Euro-centric, I don't like the wall-to-wall figure skating coverage, and I'm not really into "extreme" sports. That and it's harder to get into as someone from south Louisiana. Things like track and field translate a lot better (especially with SEC/LSU track success).

I like summer better to watch, but I bet the Winter games would be more fun to see in person. Smaller venue, most events close together, snow.

I agree.

I love ski resorts and the Olympic Winter games have that feel. Winter party and less commercial.

France, Norway, Vancouver all would have been a blast to go to. Salt Lake I'm not so sure with the LDS.

Im like Jordan who posted earlier. I love all Olympics be in Winter or Summer. Probably prefer the summer though because just has so many different sports. However, Im definitely looking forward to Sochi. Looks like will be some great venues, Just hate the time difference that's why I cant wait to Summer Olympics where the time difference will be only 3 hours different from us in Mountain time zone.

My favorite winter events (hockey and curling) I like more than any other summer events. But summer has such a variety, and I also think many more people (both domestic and world-wide) care about it, so that makes me want the U.S. to do better in it (therefore increasing my fandom further).

Me, probably because they are sports more unfamiliar to me. It also fascinates me how the top 10 finishers in some of the ski events can all finish within .5 seconds of each other, yet the same ones consistently win. An insufficiently tucked elbow on one jump can totally frick people, etc.

I also developed a major curling problem last winter Olympics. I was setting the DVR and shite.

Pretty much my thoughts. There is no better event than Olympic ice hockey. None. It's a ridiculously loaded field. But I love the overwhelming nature of the summer games.
