hoping for dramatically improved OL play

they lost two guys. one was out the whole time.
the center position was iffy for a while there.

You cant expect everyone to be healthy the whole time.
When USCw was mighty, they were able to rotate three really good OTs.

"for a while there" meaning when T-Bob was playing center.

One thing the Oline will be a lot better this year. Partly because of Collins, partly because PJ won't have to be looking over his shoulder at Hebert, partly because we won't see Hebert getting blown up, partly because of the dept had Oline and mainly because we won't have a QB playing against Bama that has no feel for the game.

Bama did on 1-9, and no QB in the universe would have been able to do shite.

not true the SEC QB wise was down last year. Arkansas had the only good QB, rest were middle of the road to bad. So Bama could afford to stick 8 in the box and let the secondary shut down the WRs.

While bama will be able to do the best with 8 in the box they will get burned if they keep 8 in the box all day. With Mett at the helm we will be able to get some down field passes against bama if they play to stop the run.

If the offense is truly balanced with LSU having been going down field with the ball and completing passes on other than 3rd down by the time we get to Bama, not even they will be able to sit with 8 in the box and they won't if they come having to respect the passing game. But it remains to be seen if Les is going to let Krags do what Krags does. Krags knows offense if Les will give him the latitude.

If CLM dials up pass plays the majority of the time on 1st down---with this OL and this RB corps---he should be fired on the spot.
