Garrett Brumfield offer question?? Posted by homeindadome Hope my heading is ok? I don't start alot of topics. I got a question. Does anyone know if Brumfield has an LSU offer? Does anyone have a legit offer list for him? I read a few things on him after getting my Geaux247 subscription and going back through the archives. I watched his film on YouTube and this kid is legit. I think he is like 6-4 , 6-5 280 range though I'm not certain. But I know he looks the part and is only 15. After watching his film I was impressed. Kid has good kneebend and pretty good footwork. Looks nasty and finishes blocks. And I was really impressed with his ability to pull. He looked smooth and fluid in his motion and seemed to usually find someone to put his hat on. And the fact that he is only 15, his footwork and hand usage will get better. Imagine his size and body if Moffitt can get a hold of him. U High with Williams this year, Brumfield next year, and Brossette 2015 can really be a pipeline. Come on Tim play for the home state and start the pipeline. Any info on Brumfield? This post was edited on 7/3 at 8:42 pm Reply Back to Top
I think Brumfields dad posts on here. Seems to be waiting on an LSU offer I think. Not a lock but his dad is a big LSU fan. I think he will be in P&G when it's all said and done. Reply Back to Top

I highly imagine an offer is coming. The kid is legit. His father is also pretty knowledgeable and a good poster. Reply Back to Top
Pocic / Robinson at tackle Brumfield / Boutte at guard Malone at center = Reply Back to Top

Imo we should have offered Brumfield already. We're going to anyway and he's a better pure talent than Clapp, with better size. I trust our staff but I think they got jumped on this one. Reply Back to Top
He went to LSU's first camp in June the same time as Clapp, before going to Florida or Miami. We haven't decided if he will attend the July session as of yet. Reply Back to Top
quote: I do agree with this sentiment but we have not offered many 2014 guys yet. I think it is only like 9 kids so far. The July Camp the last few years is the one where we started seeing next years guys get offers. This post was edited on 7/4 at 10:32 am Reply Back to Top |
Agree and have no real issue with it because it's the way things work. I just have a philosophical difference on the stance. If you know a kid is good enough and you're going to offer anyway, why not just do it the 1st chance possible? Sometimes it comes down to Les wanting to offer in person and that's the holdup but in the Cameron Robinson instance, he knew he had an offer coming and the staff had plans to offer him when he came to campus but when MSU offered before us our staff jumped on the phone and made the offer. Why wait? Same thing is happening with Brumfield aside from maybe him knowing he has one coming. I've yet to see any LSU insider question whether Brumfield will get an offer. It all comes down to when not if. Might as well get it out of the way. Reply Back to Top
Wildman, It is you and your son's business on what you decide to do as far as camps are concerned. However, you do post on this board. So here's my input. From all appearances your son appears to be a stud! As an LSU fan, I hope he ends up being a Tiger. Please don't let pride get in the way of what's best for your son. Don't refuse to go to the July camp because he has not been offered by LSU at this point. Or because of who has been offered. None of that has anything to do with where your son will be 6 years from now. Or how his college career will turn out. When you look back, it will be less than insignificant. If you son attends the July camp and is offered and subsequently chooses LSU, will the fact that others were offered first have any bearings on his future success? I think not. Otherwise, Mo Claiborne, Ty Matthieu, Benny Logan, Tharold Simon, etc., etc. etc. would not have experienced the success they have. Nor would they have attended LSU, if they were caught up into when they were offered, or who was offered first or whether they had to attend a July camp. Let your son attend the July camp and show why he is the best offensive lineman at the camp. Let him show the staff the error of their ways. That empowers you and your son versus not showing up and possibly delaying an offer even further. I'm sure that the staff will take note of the fact your son and you have shown you will do whats necessary to earn an offer. Those are the traits that I am sure any staff would value in their recruits and make the recruit even more highly regarded. Versus the attitude of one certain DB recruit and his family. In life many times others may not view us as we view ourselves. We can't quit or limit ourselves because of that. We, by our deeds, will prove our worth. Just my take. No offense or disrespect intended. Reply Back to Top Refresh
