re: Fulham 2012/13 Season-Long Threadquote: This. Sadly, it looks like that won't be much longer. Reply Back to Top |
| I'm just now seeing this thread. For better or worse, Fulham is now my club. I'll hate to see Dempsey leave, and I hope they find their way to another American player or two to bring to Craven Cottage. I'm sorry, too, 10m is not enough for me. I say Fulham can't take less than 12.5 m for him. He's easily worth it. And for whatever reason, no, I have no reason, just a gut feeling that will prove to be wrong, I see him leaving in January. I can't wait to see Kasami and Frei. Frei with Dempsey and Dembele is just a mouth-watering possibility. Jol's track record normally shows that he doesn't allow people to leave without a replacement already in place, so I'm really optimistic we'll get someone. I didn't want to see Danny leave. My wish was for him to play another season or two at the Cottage, then move into coaching for the club at Motspur Park one day taking Jol's place. It could still happen, but I'm sorry he left. | Paul Robinson, anyone? I was hoping Stockdale would finally get his opportunity. Reply Back to Top |
| Our future does have me excited, but the pieces are all VERY young. And we are old in a lot of other spots. This season needs to be Ruiz's official arrival at Fulham. We have a very capable replacement for Schwarzer in Stockdale, so I'm not terribly concerned there. Riise 31, Hangeland 31, Duff 33, Hughes 32, Davies 32, Etuhu 30, Diarra 31, Petric 31. | We'll see a lot of Frei I'm sure. Kasami's more of a mystery because of how off the radar he was as the season went on. I don't even know what his best position is. I think he's a central player, whether it's as an attacking midfielder or if they move him deeper like they did Moussa. Kakaniclik is another option on the wings. The safest bet is that Clint moves but I'm maybe slightly more confident than I was at the end of the season. I don't think an English champions league club comes in so it's a question of whether a foreign team does or somebody like Liverpool or Spurs offer more money. Reply Back to Top |
| Excuse me sirs, I'd like to take your dempsey if you could go ahead and just send him our way. Reply Back to Top |
| What do you think Ruiz's role will be? If Dempsey is gone, his role is vastly expanded as a wide player in attack. I know he was slowed a bit by some nicks here and there, but he's got to be big this year. Kasami has been named to the Switzerland Olympic team. As for Clint, you'll hear a lot more about Arsenal's "potential" interest with the news that RVP isn't going to re-up with them. But I agree that it would take a Spurs or Liverpool to get him away. Or a great offer elsewhere in Europe from a club primed for the UCL. United and City don't need him, he's not expensive enough for Chelsea's tastes. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I don't know, I guess it depends on who stays or goes and whether or not we play with one striker or two. If Clint leaves and we play with one striker I guess he would be playing just off the striker as a #10 type. If we play with two strikers I guess he'd play on the right. If Clint leaves and he becomes the main guy playing off a lone striker I'd be pretty concerned. I expect him to be pretty good this year but if that's the scenario we better bring in a legit striker. | There's been some talk about Eljero Elia. There's been this talk before though. Also was having talks with Werder Bremen but that may have broken down. Reply Back to Top |
| He's got pace, but not much else as far as I'm concerned. Reply Back to Top |
| Fulham add some depth on the backline: Agree to season-long loan for 29-year-old right-back Sascha Riether from Köln. Fulham have an option to make the deal permanent. He played in 17 games for the relegated side last season after making 116 league appearances in the previous four seasons at Wolfsburg, including a championship in 2008/09. Reply Back to Top |
| That Boy Fulham's website celebrating the top goals in the last 11 years, and guess who was tops? Just watch him do it like a boss. Reply Back to Top |
| Fan vote for Premier League all-time Fulham XI: GK: van der Sar DF: Finnan, Hughes, Hangeland, Brevett MF: Dempsey, Murphy, Dembele, Boa Morte FW: McBride, Saha I might have slightly preferred Konchesky over Rufus at left back and I am glad the fans remembered how great vd Sar was before he jumped ship to join Wank Utd. Glad to see Brian and Clint got the love they deserved. This post was edited on 7/9 at 9:29 am Reply Back to Top |

| Hugo Rodallega has signed for Fulham on a free transfer from Wigan. Reply Back to Top |
| Not a bad signing, but he was underwhelming last season. Before last season, King Kenny wanted him at Liverpool but Wigan were going to make him pay about £8-9m so they passed. If he can give us the two seasons prior, then it's a solid enough signing. At least we got him on a free. Reply Back to Top |
| I don't know the whole story but he seemed like he really just didn't give a shite last year. We need strikers though, so I guess its ok. What is that, 3 free transfers now? Reply Back to Top |
quote: Most of the Wigan team didn't give a shite until the last two months. I've got Petric and Rodallega on frees and the loan deal for Riether. Reply Back to Top |
| He refused to sign a contract last season so he was essentially frozen out of the squad. I think wigan were upset that he ran down his contract as he was a pretty big investment for the club. Reply Back to Top |
| Preseason play gets under way tomorrow against HB Køge of Denmark. Can't wait to finally see some action on the pitch. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
