| Magnum P.I. I worked late nights at KLFY and stayed after sign-off one night to watch the CBS pilot feeds for the '80 season. The Magnum P.I. pilot was the one "sure thing" pilot that I've ever seen. It had the feel of Rockford, the scenery from Hawaii Five-O, and featured a Vietnam Vet (which was still an untapped TV topic in '80). It was the one show that I told people was sure to be a hit. quote: I'd forgotten about this show after the second half of the season turned into a massive stinkbomb (IMO). Started fun, though. Best Pilot I've seen would be Breaking Bad followed by FNL. Reply Back to Top |
