Learning to not drink and drive by example?
Posted by BabyTac on 6/19 at 11:05 pm
Who all refuses to drink and drive even after only a couple of beers due to others example? I didn't know the dude from Slaughter a few weeks ago, but I'll be honest. That was a wake up call for me. I've taken a cab three times since then and refuse to drink if I'm in a situation I feel the need to drive home. I hope the impact of that accident sticks with me for a long time.

Prior to that, I would never drive drunk, but would still get behind the wheel if I felt 'ok' even though I probably was DUI worthy. If I remember right, the guy blew a .16 which if you've ever played around with a breathalyzer....that's not a whole lot of drinks.

It took a drunk driving accident that took my friends life a long time ago that did me in.

I don't drink and drive, nor do I get in the car with someone who has been drinking.

I didn't/don't want my friend's life to have been in vain.

Next door neighbor I grew up with was 16 and died drinking and driving.

Best friend died drinking and driving in my feshman year in college.

Cured me of that shite in a hurry.

I have asked cops outside of a bar to call a cab or a friend before. Never had a problem and they were more than willing to help out.

I don't understand drinking and driving.

got pulled over at 19 far too drunk to drive. Cop let me go, I took it as a sign and haven't done it since

If I'm going out and I know I have to drive I drink 4 beers; that for me keeps me under the limit, and I'm not impaired at all.

It's not worth for so many reasons, so I haven't in a long time.

2 beers is my limit, with very few exceptions.

a .08 is a totally bull shite arbitrary stupid limit

there should be a get drunk and drive test you take every few years where you can drive at a higher or lower bac than the law says

I picture a few OT'ers showing up to the DMV fricked up and riding around with the employee for the test sipping a four loko.

So you couldn't pick up the phone yourself for what reason exactly?

I'Ce never done it before. Will never do it. On the rare occasions where I do drink(like 2-3 times a year),I only do it at home and I lock my keys in the car and give my spare to someone yet or nephew
