Former Saints DL Anthony Hargrove got 8 game suspension for allegedly lying. Source says there is zero evidence provided on that charge.

Again, both of those did not exist at the time Commissioner Goodell imposed his discipline on the players.

"Half of the pages are completely worthless," one source said.

shite is getting real. I hope Goodell loses his job for this BS.

Was about to type the exact thing.

Multiple sources now say: NFL cache may reflect some payment violations of CBA, but zero evidence Saints tired to hurt opponents

And the geniuses who run the Times Pic are taking him off of sports...

I agree. This should be fun to watch Goodell if/when he covers his ass.

You can tell who is an employee of an NFL partner and who isn't. Here is Adam Schefter on the evidence.

NFL has turned over some evidence to the four players suspended for Saints bounty program, but lawyers for players are seeking more info.

He's notorious for misspelling people's names and getting factual information wrong, esp when covering LSU. Varney is pretty clueless but this looks like good work

Even more disturbing - and awfully ironic - is that part of the evidence the NFL did share with players was a column I wrote last week after talking with linebacker Scott Shanle. For one thing, that article was written well after the league handed out its punishments, so it shouldn't have had any bearing on the punishments handed out by the league (the same goes for a recent essay written by filmmaker Sean Pamphilon that the NFL included Friday).

So the league is using an article from a week ago as evidence, when they handed down the punishment months ago?

The Saints got railroaded

As it does appear to be much of what we thought, sadly the commish is the end of the line for our appeals.
No matter how justified. 31 club/owners and perhaps even 32 will not let this backtrack no matter what. They perceive the damage from that to be greater than the damage to the Saints and its fans.

Bring on camp

I really enjoy him on Twitter. Hopefully he finds a better job elsewhere at some point.

I continue to get more and more angry the more I learn about what Goodell did. Him getting fired over this is not enough. He needs to be thrown in jail and raped by the guards until his vaj bleeds

Him getting fired is enough for me. He's one of the worst things to happen to the league and I cannot wait till his arse is gone

Do y'all believe him getting fired is inevitable at this point?

No. This will go away when he wants it to.

If Payton was suspended for continuing and covering up a pay to injure program, then what happens if it turns out that such a program didn't exist?

Also, read Varney's column at nola.com. there is a great point about the atmosphere of fear surrounding this issue and its impact on getting witnesses to testify on behalf of the Saints.

frick no, despite all the hate the NFL's bottom line has never looked better.

As long a he doesn't do anything illegal or overly embarrassing, he is safe IMO.

I think Vilma has a chance of winning his lawsuit. At the very least, it'll make clear how bad Goodell misrepresented the "evidence."

Here's what I think they have:

testimony from a ex employee (probably the same guy who say they were wiretapping)

audio of GW running his mouth

Even if Vilma wins his lawsuit, Goodell's job will not be in jeopardy IMO.
