| Cleaning and oiling baitcast reels Posted by Uncle JackD Whats the best method for oiling my curados without taking them completely apart? They got awfully salty this past wknd and all I've done so far is rinse em under the sink. I always give them a good rinsing but oftenshould one earl and lube? | just take off the side panel and drop some reel oil on the bearings and other moving parts. I should follow my own advice... Reply Back to Top |

| wwaaaattttt! ready for Da Island bawwww. lemme know what else I need to bring besides tackle and oiled up reels...and tons of booze Reply Back to Top |
| Reel Magic, you can get it just about anywhere, works great. Just hit a lick every once in awhile, don't have to lube it after every use as long as you rinse with freshwater before you put it away. Reply Back to Top |

Posted by CalcuttaTigah on 6/6 at 6:44 pm to Uncle JackD Another poster already said this but definitely hit them with the hose when you get home and wipe them down. It is pretty easy to pop off the side and hit the non-crank side with a drop or two of oil. Your crank side should be fine. In reality, the bearings are sealed which is why curados have been popular redfish reels for years.Reply Back to Top |
| Is real magic to keep salt and such out or lub after the fact? I've heard both. I too need to make my lazy self clean my Chronarch Reply Back to Top |
