Looks like this is gonna happen. I'm hearing it could be done as early as tomorrow.

I'm happy with Lambert. He's not my first choice but I think he's the kind of manager we need: young and ambitious.

He attempted to offer his resignation, but it was rejected by the club. By doing so, they can still claim compensation if Aston Villa want him. If he were to resign, the club is entitled to nothing.
