| In the grand scheme of musical history, is Elton John underrated? I say yes. The best male voice in the history of rock, fantastic tunes, great rockers and sweet ballads, an amazing run in the 70's, great pianist, showman, fashion icon, longevity... I just don't think he gets the chatter he deserves. He's not the Beatles, but he should be mentioned with the Stones, the Bee Gees, Pink Floyd...  I like Van Morrison but come on. Elton John was a great great great singer in his prime. He had range and control and sounded almost as good live as in studio. Hes one of my favorite artists of all time. Reply • Back to Top |

| Elton John is routinely listed among the greats and is widely considered one of the best showmen in rock history. He's rated exactly right. Great artist, but level below the inner circle guys like Dylan. I've never heard anyone just say "Elton John sucks". He's rated pretty highly, as he should be. Reply • Back to Top |
