any effect of ronnie vinson leaving Posted by drjeff17 (no message)Reply Back to Top
I think it has been anticipated for awhile...I don't see how it would change our numbers or strategy for this year's class. Reply Back to Top
Didn't know he was leaving. Did he just think he couldn't crack the lineup Reply Back to Top
I remember how he was going to be the next DB in line to be a superstar here, but I guess things just didn't work out. Reply Back to Top
It gets us closer to the 85 limit. It will also get other players involved on special teams and spot duty allowing us to further evaluate the younger DBs and get them more game reps. I think we'll see guys like Micah Eugene, Paul Turner, and David Jenkins pick up more special teams reps. I hate seeing guys transfer out, especially when they aren't troublemakers and what not, but that's how it goes. Reply Back to Top
not really, he wasnt good enough to play and got passed up. Reply Back to Top
This is just the downside to choosing to play at a institution as superior as LSU. Being located in a state that produces such great talent, plus constantly having high-caliber athletes being pulled to the program especially in the secondary, even some really talented players are going to get passed up and/or overlooked. I wish the best to Ronnie, I always had high hopes for him, I hope he plays his arse off at SLU This post was edited on 5/23 at 11:58 am Reply Back to Top
quote: Rumors have been going around for weeks that he is looking to transfer as well. Nothing confirmed yet though, obviously. I believe this was the reason for Miles' no show at the Tiger Tour in Monroe a couple of weeks ago. This post was edited on 5/23 at 12:00 pm Reply Back to Top |
Now that would suck Reply Back to Top
Good luck to him.. Had high hopes for him. He should dominate at that level and get tons of playing time. We. Do have a lot of good db's. Reply Back to Top
anyone know where Vinson is transferring to? This post was edited on 5/23 at 12:12 pm Reply Back to Top
SLU in hammond Curtis johnson turned him down at Tulane Reply Back to Top
quote: Any "why" connected to these rumors? Just doesn't make sense. He's a redshirt freshman that should get playing time and be in a position to win a starting position next year. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I wish I knew. I have no idea. Questions have been asked, but they aren't answered. Coaches really want him to stay though, and hopefully he will. Reply Back to Top |
Wish I knew too. Maybe it's grades. For Tulane not to want him. They're not exactly stacked at db. Thought he would see the field this year. At least on st. Reply Back to Top
I am surprised that Tulane turned him down. I am sure Vinson is a better player than anyone they have right now. He comes from a New Orleans school. He is a good kid, good student, etc. That just seems like a wierd decision for Tulane. Reply Back to Top
Not only is he from a new Orleans school, but he went to Newman. I'm a Newman alum. It's probably the most academically respected school in the state. Out of my graduating class of 127, I believe only about 10 to 15 stayed in state, and I believe only 1 did not attend college right after HS graduation. Tulane loves Newman kids. Newman greenies/green wave----tulane And, Newman is located right down the street from Tulane. Vinson should b exactly the type of kid Tulane should try to reel in. There must be more to this story This post was edited on 5/23 at 12:46 pm Reply Back to Top

I didn't say he was transferring with Vinson. I said there have been RUMORS that he was looking to transfer. We just have to wait & see what happens. Reply Back to Top Refresh
