Anybody tried Yang's Po-boys in Mid City (NOLA)
Posted by Napoleon on 5/15 at 10:51 pm
Really good, they use Liedenheimer's and toast it perfectly. They also have a really good roast beef that isn't overcooked, but is still very tender. Lots of flavor too.

I stopped in today for a Po-boy and yesterday for Red Beans. Each was $6.50.

Lots of meat in the beans too, not just the grilled sausage.

Great to have a Poboy that wan't too soggy.

It's near the begining of Canal, by city park on Iberville.

Strange its owned by Chinese people, with not one Chinese dish on the menu.

Meatloaf is the special tomorrow and then stuffed bell peppers on Thursday.

Yup. Love that place. Grilled chicken po-boy is my favorite. I never tried the roast beef.

Yeah, I've mentioned it on here before. I go fried shrimp with spicy mayo. The people that own it are relly nice.

Btw, it's Bienville, not Iberville

Bump

Got the fried shrimp poboy today. Must say, it's very tasty. Shrimp have a unique, albeit great, flavor to them, and are good size and very fresh. Well dressed, perfectly toasted Leidenheimer bread. I'll be back soon to give the roast beef a whirl.

ETA: I didn't see spicy mayo as an option on the menu. Is it something I have to request?

I ate here today for the 1st time because of this post. The roast beef is definitely good. Im not sure how they warm it, but it was piping hot. It burnt my tongue, i didn't expect it to be that hot. Microwaved maybe? Regardless, it was good.

I got onion rings as a side. They were $3.95. They were a ripoff for that price. About 8-10 rings, that were pretty under-fried.

The people are really nice. The man came to my table and asked me how i liked my po boy, as he did for just about everyone in there.. My mouth was full, but i kind of nodded and told him it was really good. Had i not been in mid-bite, I was going to tell him about the rings, but he walked off quickly.

The service is very tentative, and he encouraged me to bring my friends next time(i ate by myself). With that said, all i can recommend is the roast beef, but ill likely be back to try more.

I got a stuffed bell pepper with ground meat, pork and shrimp I believe. It came with potato salad as a special. Pretty good but the potato salad was too watery IMO. They gave you a lot though. Shrimp poboy was awesome.

Saw a picture on their website and those are some jumbo shrimp.

Can't wait to try it. I'm kind of a shrimp poboy slut.
