agree. Cheers finished 71 out of 77 shows in its first season.

That's the real problem. So many decent shows with decent ratings get cancelled because the Networks keeping hoping to find a good show with good ratings. If they want good they have to plan to make good shows, not keep throwing stuff on the wall and see what sticks. Give a proven guy/team with a good concept a 2 season commitment to produce the show and make it right.

I am really enjoying watching entire series that I missed marathon style on NetFlix. They need to figure out how to make the online streaming aftermarket part of the business model just like they did with DVD sales.

I'm bummed about The Finder. It was a really good show but as usual if FOX can't over run the beginning of another show with it's American Idol bullshite, they kick it to Friday so it can die a ratings death.

Plus, I will miss my weekly Mercedes Masohn fix

I liked the Finder, Awake and Harry's Law, figured Harry's Law would die when it got moved to Sundays.

I'm kind of mixed on him. On the one hand when I was younger I thought he was really funny. I went back to listen to his standup a few months ago and didn't find it funny at all.

I have liked a few of his movies though.

This.

They need to have each episode on OnDemand and their website the night they air and not take them down until a few weeks after the season concludes.

One of my favorite parts of the M/TV board is while scrolling down reading threads, I see something a teenage girl would write I always looks over to the poster to see if it's you. Thanks for not disappointing me.

From my perspective, the fact that so many decent shows get cancelled speaks less to the quality of the programming and more to the failing ratings based business model for the major networks. Most people obviously refuse to be programmed into watching a show in a specific time slot. And as the saying goes, time is money, and my time wasted suffering through commercials is just as valuable to me as it is to the networks and their advertisers.

I hate that The River is cancelled. It seemed to have a lot of potential, but at least it ended in a way that gives a sort of closure.

I figured Alcatraz would get the axe even though I enjoyed it.

My wife is pissed that GCB got cancelled. ABC is getting about as bad as NBC.

Keep in mind though, most of don't know who is behind keyboard so it could be a teenage girl.

Comedians don't get starring roles in multiple movies if they aren't "on", he was even getting supporting roles in serious movies. Now he's doing this soon to be cancelled crap.

It sucks the River and the Finder got the boot, but I'm glad Grimm survived

Made an effort to get into Terra Nova, The River, and Alcatraz. Terra Nova was such a good premise and had so much potential. Wasn't executed well, but wish it had more time to take off. The River had me intrigued early, got kind of iffy in the middle, and then was really good in the last few episodes. I'm really bummed about this one. Alcatraz looked good, but I had to make myself pay attention and gave up about half way through.

I watched the first two episodes of Awake too, liked what I saw. I have all the rest DVR'd, but both the wife and I couldn't see how they could continue that sort of plot line for more than a couple of seasons. I think I'll just delete the saved shows, no sense in following a dead end. I got burned with Flashforward like that. Shame too, it had potential.

The River looked good, but after Lost and Battlestar Gallactica having such unfulfilling endings, Heroes turning to crap in the last couple of seasons, and Flashforward being cancelled, I'm VERY hesitant to invest time in that "mysterious supernatural story arc" style of show.

I too am VERY happy Grimm didn't get cut, even though it's in a shitty Friday night slot, it's a really good show.
