| I'm tired of pork belly Posted by Martini I love it but every restaurant i seem to go in is serving it now. The novelty has worn off and I guess it's gone mainstream. And I've been braising short ribs for thirty years and my mother has been doing it for sixty years so I don't need that in each restaurant now either. Can we move on now? If someone would cook a braised chicken gizzards served over a wild mushroom risotto I'd kick their door down to eat it. I'm tired of arugula as well. Taste like yard work. Reply Back to Top |
| I agree with you but I do enjoy braised short ribs and it's not like every restaurant has it. Reply Back to Top |
| Now I want braised short ribs Reply Back to Top |
| There out there a good bit from what I've seen. And I'll eat all of the items listed. I just get tired of all of the sudden everyone is doing pretty much the same thing. Like a few years ago when it was tall food. Now it's gourmet burgers. Reply Back to Top |
| I haven't tired of arugula. I think I have an obsession with it, for some reason. Reply Back to Top |
Posted by Rohan2Reed on 5/14 at 9:20 pm to Martini I dunno man. The fried oyster and pork belly sandwich at Borgne is fricking legit. Reply Back to Top |
| Do the short ribs at home. It's easy. Buy them at SAMs because they are full of meat. And use the bone in ones. They used to be cheap but not anymore. They do make the best gravy. Reply Back to Top |
| If every restaurant in the country starting serving it I would be happy about that. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I really enjoy arugula but I have noticed that what you get in a restaurant is so much better than what I am able to buy. Have you found this too? If not, where are you buying it? Reply Back to Top |
| Try goat belly. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yep, was just taken to Flip Burger(chain) at the Summit in B'ham. Essentially paid $10 for a slider and the worst fried dill pickles (they were actually bread & butter, not dill) I ever had. Did I miss 'Tall' food? What was that? Reply Back to Top |
| When the food was stacked tall on the plate. A lot of cylinders etc... And if I could find goat belly I'd sure try it. Can't get anyone to do the chicken gizzards? Reply Back to Top |
| Flip burger is awesome and is not really a chain. The owner won Top Chef All Stars. Reply Back to Top |

| Martini, you are such a hipster Reply Back to Top |
| More places should have a charcuterie plate Reply Back to Top |
| Send your pork belly my way. Between bacon, cracklins and various other uses, I'm going through 5 lbs/week. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yeah, real award winner, I'm impressed. It won the 'We cater to the under 30, cool looking chain with questionable food' award. The design team must have gotten all the accolades. I had the blackened shrimp burger (slider), kind of ground up shrimp patty, nothing outstanding. Person next to me had a Classic, ordered medium, was so dry she only ate half of it. Bill for dinner for 5, one kid included, $82. It didn't help the we got the Goth, hair all combed to one side, I have to work because my parents made me get a job, attitude waiter. I didn't win the Andouille Award, the only one I'm interested in. Reply Back to Top |
