Absolutely not. The rank and file Republican is very comfortable with a large role of govt in many areas of our lives. Look at the presidential candidates that are being nominated, they are all "moderate Republicans."

Most libertarians realize govt is here to stay and have a goal of limiting it somewhat. Republicans are pretty damn comfortable with the heavy role of govt.
