re: The Giants waived Chad Jones today That sucks. I wish CJ3 the best. Reply Back to Top
"Saints sure could use a hard hitting Strong Safety that can cover....... " Yeah I'd probably take a one legged Chad Jones over Roman Harper any day Reply Back to Top
He's got a long way to go to prove he could make it in baseball, the guy only had like 7 innings pitched in college Reply Back to Top
I still can't believe this happened to Chad. One of my favorite Tigers of all time. Vibes to Chad and his family. Reply Back to Top
Chad Jones received the best Rehab a man can get, for free, courtesy of the Giants. This will really help him in his quest to be a left handed closer in the MLB. Kudos to the Giants, and best of luck to Chad. If he can throw in the lower to mid 90's, then he can polish himself with a few years in the minors. Reply Back to Top
Yes, this might be a blessing in disguise. Chad has a good chance to enjoy a much longer career in major league baseball than he likely would have in the NFL. Reply Back to Top
echo the props to the giants and maras. class acts in the way they treated him. Reply Back to Top
Since he signed a pro football contract not a baseball contract does he still have any eligibility left to play college baseball. Reply Back to Top
Dammit! Reply Back to Top
I'm think he has to have Tommy John's to be able to ever even think about pitching again...he tore up his left arm/shoulder. Reply Back to Top
Tommy John is the elbow. Shoulder issues would be a different type of surgery. He may have both, I don't know. Just wanted to clarify. Reply Back to Top
Seriously? Reply Back to Top
His football career was done as soon as that accident happened. The damage to his muscles and vessels were too great for a 100% recovery. He needs to concentrate on baseball and see what he can do in the minor leagues. Reply Back to Top
Giants should have kept Jones if all they were going to do is sign Will Hill. Jones has more potential, even with the injury. Hill is such a waste of talent. Hopefully Chad makes a full recovery. Reply Back to Top
I wonder if this is an indication that he is not expected to ever be able to pass a physical, or just that he is not there "yet", and the Giants just can't wait on him anymore? And also more kudos to the Giants for sticking with him this long. Showed tremendous faith, or at least tremendous respect for the talent they hoped he could recapture. Good luck, Chad, in football, baseball, and whatever else you choose to do in your life. I'd guess that no matter what field he goes into, if he works as hard as he did at rehabbing, he'll be a tremendous success. Reply Back to Top
man, so sorry to hear that. he worked so hard! I hope someone else gives him a shot. Reply Back to Top

quote: I agree nicholastiger. I was surprised they stuck by him that long. Coming back from such a horrible injury, it would probaly serve him better to try baseball. Reply Back to Top |
When you enroll in college you have 5 years to use the four years of eligiblity available to you. That was CPM's answer to that question on his show last night. So the answer is no. Reply Back to Top
I feel bad for him. Hopefully he has a good degree and has a long productive career in whatever he decides to do in the future. Reply Back to Top Refresh
