re: How I Met Your Mother (5/14) -- The Season Finalequote: this was discussed on page 2. it is his kids. The whole premise of the show is Bob Saget is telling the kids how he met their mom. "How I Met YOUR Mother" Reply Back to Top |

| A few things. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is pretty accurate. 1. The kids have referred to him as Dad. I don't know who the mother is, but he is their father. 2. All indications are Ted has not met the mother yet. I'm not even convinced she has been cast. 3. I'm not sure it's been explicitly stated that Ted meets his mother at Barney's wedding, but I'm almost positive that will be when they meet. Reply Back to Top |

| Interview with one of the co-creators. Victoria is NOT the mother, but Ted does meet her at Barney's wedding. Also gives their reasons (which seem pretty weak, IMO) for bringing back the Ted/Victoria thing. LINK Reply Back to Top |
| Its a Cartman's mom type situation. Ted is the mom. BOOM!!! mindfrick Reply Back to Top |
| Here are my thoughts. First of all, I think all the loopholes people are looking for are big reaches. I'm thinking there are simple explanations for why the writers seem to keep relapsing in their storytelling. In my opinion, those are: 1. They're not sure where they want to go from now, and they're trying to buy a little time. 2. They're afraid to make new developments, and they're trying to go with what's comfortable. 3. They're trying to milk the show as long as possible, so they're delaying major development. In the end, it's a comedy. That's why I watch it. In the past, I've generally thought the writers have done well, but maybe they lack the creativity to end everything? Or maybe they're just stalling? To be honest, I can get past some weird developments as long as it's funny. I really feel like they sacrificed some humor for plot this season. The problem is, I don't think they've made much progress. This post was edited on 5/15 at 10:02 am Reply Back to Top |
quote: Matt and Trey Nothing greater than ending that season with part 1, setting it up to be concluded at the beginning of season 2, and throwing in a random Terrance and Phillip episode in there first just to frick with everyone. This post was edited on 5/15 at 10:05 am Reply Back to Top |
quote: three or so episodes ago they show that in 3 years, ted has a daughter. quote: they are on a time limit. his kids look to be 15-16 ish and it is 2012. they are sitting on the couch listening to the story in the year 2030 and they usually keep current with the times. unless they do a "that 70's show" type of thing where 6 or 7 seasons take place in a 3 year span. | I always assumed that they were more surprised that he was saying that their mom was a stripper. I guess it's possible that the name is Tracy. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
