| Who will the next nazis be? What will the history channel do documentaries about in 50 years? Besides "extreme beet farmers" or whatever other damn reality shows they can gin up. Perhaps they'll even drop the pretenses of the vaguely sexual innuendo and we'll get "flea market frickers" Reply Back to Top |

| Heydrich was the real power in the SS and much smarter than Himmler. He was killed because he understood proper counterinsurgency doctrine. Decided to treat the Czechs as the Romans did, don't screw up and we will let you alone for the most part, have your religion and customs, and life goes on as before to some degree, don't, and there will bre hell to pay. Contrast to just plain brutal nature of typical Nazi occupation. Brits saw that as a threat so the plot was on. Reply Back to Top |

| What a fantastic thread this was to read. I love everything about WW2. Well, reading and learning about it. I have never actively pursued education in it, but shows, documentaries, games, etc. pertaining to WW2, I absolutely love. Don't know why. Hell, in history back in high school I made Cs all year because all I wanted to do was sleep through class.. But I aced all of the WW2 stuff #lulz# Reply Back to Top |
| This thread is fascinating, but getting back to the OP. That fighter (light bomber actually) would have been a handful to fly. They aerodynamic qualities of a flying wing almost mandate fly by wire. The US experimented with a flying wing bomber (almost identical to Germany's heavy bomber prototype) and gave up. It was just too much. I didn't watch the videos, but I have a hard time believing they could get enough JPL in a jet to make it to NY. It would have to be prop-powered, which would reduced its stealth characteristics. Reply Back to Top |

quote: No need for stealth to bomb NYC in those days! I think the advantage the Amerika Bomber offered was aerodynamics thus increased range. The main two ingredients needed were the bomb and the bomber with the range. Reply Back to Top |

quote:A good example of why more Nazi soldiers should have been executed after WWII. Reply Back to Top |
quote: The soldiers didn't kill all the villagers, in fact, those soldiers didn't even seem to know about the incident at all. And it's a very fuzzy thing to call German soldiers "Nazi" soldiers to begin with. Also, technically they are correct about the legality of anti-partisan reprisals under the Geneva Convention during WWII. So you would have executed them for what? How would you determine what "Nazi soldiers" to be executed and which to be spared? Reply Back to Top Refresh |
