23 Years Ago Today We Lost Keith Whitley Posted by Coach Lea I still stop whatever I'm doing when I hear "I'm No Stranger To The Rain" to take it in. He was THE voice of country music. Drinking may have been the death of Keith but hear's to you This post was edited on 5/9 at 7:44 pm Reply Back to Top

He was poised to take over the country music world. Had both the musicianship and vocal talent that others wish they could have just one of. What a tragic unnecessary loss. P. S Plus he was bangin' Lorrie Morgan Reply Back to Top
I get chills when I hear "I'm over You." Had a chance to be one of the greatest but his life was cut way too short. Reply Back to Top

Seriously? Bluegrass/country singer who died in 1989 at age 33 of alcohol poisoning. First charted in 1984/1985 and was getting better and bigger with each subsequent album. ETA: Miami, My Amy Ten Feet Away Homecoming '63 Don't Close You Eyes and I'm No Stranger To The Rain (mentioned by OP) This post was edited on 5/9 at 8:35 pm Reply Back to Top

Could have been so much bigger than he was. 'Brotherly Love' was a great duet with ETC. Reply Back to Top
quote: Same here. It's a top 5 all-time county song as far as I'm concerned. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
