Driver Shaft Advice... BP & Other Experts Help! Posted by mytigger I'm currently playing a 910d3 driver (9.5 degrees) with the Diamana Ahina 72 Stiff Shaft, which by all accounts is a very good shaft. But I'm looking to upgrade, or at least seeking advice on wether or not I should upgrade and which shafts I should look at. BP, you've seen my swing - I wouldn't say I swing hard but I'm pretty consistent between 260-280 with my drives and have a mid-high ball flight, which I like. Is there a shaft out there you think would be an upgrade from my stock titleist shaft? Reply Back to Top

Fujikura Diesel FTW - a lot of pros use it bc it doesn't generate as much spin. Aldila Voodoo and Project X as solid as well. Reply Back to Top
Don't we all, I don't think a shaft will get you what you're looking for, perhaps swing harder Reply Back to Top

I have the Project X 6.0 and if I try to really get on one I overload the shaft. Swing speed is consistently 110-112. On the swings I'm talking about, it's 118-122. If that helps you on which shaft to get as far as Project X. Thinking of moving to the 7.0. Reply Back to Top
quote: I play this exact same setup. I went to a Titleist fitting tent last week wondering the same thing because I felt my driver was just a little inconsistent. I was launching it right at 13 degrees and had a good ball spin rate (don't remember the numbers), so the guy said he couldn't really do any better than that for me. This is probably the best way to get it checked out. Reply Back to Top |

Whats your swing speed and spin numbers? If you switch to a heavier shaft your going to hit it straighter but might loose some distance if your ss is not high enough.. I had a 910d3 8.5 and used a Diamana Whiteboard 73x, Fujikura Tour Spec, and a Fujikura Motore F1...all good shafts that develop low spin. Reply Back to Top
Yes .. You can also get it n 55 gram or 65 gram ... I have the x flex .. I almost can not miss a fairway with that shaft Reply Back to Top
