any verizon experts on tonight? Posted by thejudge Evening. So the wife asked me tonight if she could have a smartphone. Being as whenever asks me for anything she must want one. I have a Verizon phone with the unlimited data plan grandfathered in. I haven't had a new contract I have 4 years. If I renew I think I keep my unlimited, but if she upgrades does she get the unlimited? Or is hers tiered? Thanks. Reply Back to Top
Hers will be tiered. Reply Back to Top
I doubt an added line would get your grandfathered contract if it wasn't added while unlimited data was offered. I think it would be tiered. Reply Back to Top

She should get the double data plan at 4gb though, which should be plenty Reply Back to Top
My wife and I upgraded to the iPhone back in October and how it was explained to me was that there is no tiered package for the iPhone. Unlimited only. Reply Back to Top

Yeah I have the Droid Maxx as well. The battery life is incredible. Not what they say it is but I also think I use mine more than the average user so that could be the reason. I used to charge my Droid X2 throughout the day but with my Maxx I take it off the charger in the AM and it doesn't go back until I go to bed, usually around 11. Also, I added my fiancee to my account with the Thunderbolt. She streams a 2 or 3 hour podcast everyday from radio show plus all of the other normal use and she hasn't used more than 1.5 GB in a month. 4GB is a lot to use but I still want to hang on to my unlimited as long as I can. I'm afraid with apps getting more complex and data heavy that eventual I'll have to actually monitor data use This post was edited on 5/20 at 9:32 am Reply Back to Top
