re: Avatar Seriously, "How to Train Your Dragon" told a very similar story in a much better manner than Avatar did. It just wasn't as simple as "Vikings are evil". Reply Back to Top

man, tons of hate. Is it suddenly cool to hate it?? In terms of a film/story, it's ok. However, in terms of the moviegoing experience, I think it was the most fun I've had. Seeing it in 3D in theaters, being completely captivated by the effects, and having a decent/ok story were enough to make it more than awesome IMO Reminds me of a cool theme park ride, only it lasts 2 hours Reply Back to Top
Its more the themes than the plot or the visuals. And the themes are manipulative as frick. Reply Back to Top

Whoa, I didn't say the whole board, but it was definitely a 50/50 split. There were plenty of vocal haters. There was even a stickied thread. Something I wish they would do for GoT. I could be wrong. Maybe I just remember the hate mre than the fap. This post was edited on 5/3 at 10:00 am Reply Back to Top
quote: I was willing to give it a good chance, and despite all my comments I stand by the fact that Avatar is an incredibly effective cinematic experience. I was stoned to the absolute Bejeez and I loved it on my first viewing. Is it an incredible film though? No, no it isn't. Its a manipulative film that is gorgeous to look at, especially when high. | I like this movie. The visuals are absolutely breathtaking, especially on first viewing on the big screen. But it's not and never was the best movie ever made. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
