| re: If TDKR is "meh", will you admit it? Posted by magildachunks on 5/2 at 11:18 pm to TheDarkestNight quote: This tells me a lot about you. quote: it is another action movie. It is a good one, but it's not some philosophical study of society like you fanboys are trying to make it out to be. Oh, you mean the city's people aren't as bad as they are originally thought to be? Where have I seen that before? Oh yeah.....Ghostbusters 2. quote: Whatever Gamecock. I understand why they did it. It was just so stupid. You act like we don't expect someone to go crazy after haveing his face melted off. Like people wouldn't understand that. And they could have just said he committed suicide, rather than blame it on Batman. Or he died trying to save Gordon's family. It was a stupid ending trying to make some stupid point that was poorly written. quote: Please, bring this to the genre thread and discuss what this genre is all about. I'd love to debate you on this. Action-drama? really? Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yeah...all you have to do is read a Batman vs. Joker comic like The Killing Joke to understand that when Batman defeats the Joker, it isn't a victory that Batman can beat his chest about. It's always very costly and not always a clear win. Reply Back to Top |

| Some will do anything they can to convince themselves that they love it. Like me when TDK came out. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Dude, we get it...you're big into this shite and you see some of the shite before others do. We're not impressed so you can stop bragging any time now. quote: Not exactly. Campiness and cheese doesn't really exist very much in Nolan's Gotham. And certainly not to the extent of Burton's. Nolan's has a much more dark, gritty realism to it. Of course it's a comic book movie, but that doesn't mean it has to be cheesy, campy, and silly a la the original 4 movies. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Good point. But at the same time, SW was released before I was born, and I saw it as a kid. So I wasn't at all concerned with that kinda shite back then. And looking at SW now, the way they did Vader's voice seems to flow and sound much better than the way Bane's voice sounded in that trailer. I have faith that it will be fine once the movie is completely finished and released, but it's definitely something I'm noticing in the trailers and whatnot. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I wouldn't say there is anything deep about this film nor would I say the loss of Rachel was a big deal. Seriously as a viewer was there anytime you was nervous because Rachel might bite the bullet? Also Dents murder was not really pinned on Batman, he took responsibility for it. It may sound like the same thing but it's not. Reply Back to Top |

| I almost hate to admit it because these movies are so well loved but I never could really get into either Batmn Begins nor the Dark Knight. I've tried watching both of them but have only seen each all the way through maybe once each. It's kind of strange to me because I enjoy many different type of movies (and television for that matter). And I'm a big comic book geek from waaaay back. (Mostly Marvel admittedly so maybe that's part of the deal but I do enjoy the DC cartoons incuding the Batman ones and the Superman and the very early Batman movies). I'm glad for those who enjoy the movies that they can get a lot of enjoyment out of them. I just never could. This post was edited on 5/3 at 12:04 pm Reply Back to Top |

| I know. I'll have to fall back on my sig quote I guess. Reply Back to Top |
| Haha The thing that concerns me the most about that trailer is that Nolan thinks Hines Ward can return a punt for a touchdown. Reply Back to Top |

If they had kept Katie Holmes then yeah I may have cared more about her directly. I did however care for her indirectly as she was Bruce's life-long sweetheart. Like I said, she was the only woman in the world that he loved and to have her taken from him, that had to be a bitch. Reply Back to Top |
