| Costa Repair Question (Update Below) Posted by 4LSU2 My costas are a tad bit too wide for my beak. They are constantly sliding off of my face and I need to tighten them somehow. Does anyone know if a local gunglass store can tighten the frames, without having to send them back? This post was edited on 4/30 at 7:56 pm Reply Back to Top |
| Costas are like Macs. Just throw them away and buy another one...afterall, you have money to burn. Reply Back to Top |
| I actually want to buy another pair, but the wife mentioned a tightnening method. We took her Bans to a local place a month or so ago and he tightened them. Both are $200 shades, but I've had mine for several years. They have been sent back twice to have the lenses replaced. I am due another pair, but would entertain a local fix to get me by. | if you're gonna try and get something done i'd try and do it locally. costa's are def the best sunglasses, unless they happen to break Reply Back to Top |
| I think they just heat them up and shape them. Just get you a heat gun from Wal-marks and go to town Reply Back to Top |

quote: I plan to do this. The guy just opened a new shop when we took hers and we did not purchase them there. He tightened her's for free and only asked us to come back the next time we were in the market for new shades. I kind of feel weird to bring another pair back to this place without buying a new pair. I may ask him to tighten these, and still buy a new pair. I will keep the others as a spare. My anniversary is coming up and I've been a model husband. I deserve a new pair of shades. | Got my rincons back after a month and the other lens was broken. When I sent them back they told me I had to choose a new frame color because they ruined mine. All this because u broke a lens. I was without my glasses for almost three months. This post was edited on 4/28 at 6:40 pm Reply Back to Top |
| Update: I took my shades to the local guy in Covington today to see about "tightening" my frames. He looked at them and told me the problem is the temples are too loose. Typically, you send them back, pay a $25 fee plush shipping & handling and they will return them with new temples in 2 to 4 weeks. He had the replacement temples in stock and charged me $31 to change them out. He did this while I waited, which took 6 minutes total. I now feel as if I have a brand new pair of shades for $31!
