| If you watch the first season of Fringe, the first thing you'll think is, "Why the hell was LOST so popular and this can barely gain traction?" great season 1 finale cliff hanger as well. Enjoy! Reply Back to Top |
quote: While Fringe is very very good, it's also not over with. BSG is, you can watch the entirety of it. Don't let the hard sci-fi elements scare you. It's a wonderful show. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I always hear good things about this but it's slipped so far down my list of shows to watch. Maybe I'll try to pick up season 1 this summer. Something to compare it to? Reply Back to Top |
| I hope yall are right! Because Lost is one of my favorite shows of all time. I love the cliffhangers. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I really can't compare it to anything. it's "The Wire" of science fiction television? Most people see the science fiction part of it and run away, when really, that's just the trappings of the show. It's a deep character study about the last of the human race on the run from something far more powerful and numerous than they are. It touches on politics, religion, philosophy, crime and terrorism, faith, hope, humanity, lust, pride, and a host of other subjects. The characters are extremely rich, even the minor ones, and really are at the forefront of the show. It gets my highest recommendation. This post was edited on 4/26 at 9:32 am Reply Back to Top |
| Oh ok. I'll have to give BSG a try too Reply Back to Top |

quote: Don't get me wrong, I love Fringe, but BSG is better. And finished, so there'll be no wait if you really get into it. Fringe gives me those Lost-like withdrawal feelings when I don't get a new episode. haha. This post was edited on 4/26 at 9:36 am Reply Back to Top |
| Yea I know what you mean. Atleast for me though I didnt watch Lost until it was done so I didnt have to have withdrawals haha Reply Back to Top |
quote: That's a ballsy claim, I'll have to check it out. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Well, LOST's scope is paralleled by a very select few shows that Fringe doesn't really come close to. Reply Back to Top |
quote: And one I stand behind, not just talk. Just search thread titles for Battlestar or BSG. Three posters have started it over the last few months, all loved it. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Depends on your view, this is easily one of the best and worst things about Lost. Fringe's focus being so tight keeps it from wandering too much. Far less red herrings. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I haven't not seen the later season of Fringe past probably halfway through season 2, but the first season of Fringe is not even on the same level as any season of Lost. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yeah but the last two seasons of LOST were pretty awful, whereas Fringe is consistently good Reply Back to Top |
| actually now that you say it... the last seasons of Lost are definitely not the best, but I was at least invested in them. And again I haven't seen Fringe's later season, but the first season I thought was mediocre. It had way too many filler episodes for me. ETA: At least from what i can remember. IT has been a while since I watched the first season of Fringe. This post was edited on 4/26 at 10:01 am Reply Back to Top Refresh |
