One of the greatest American bands ever. Brian Wilson is a musical genius and the rest of the group possess some of the greatest voices in history. The were the only true American rival to The Beatles, with Paul McCartney praising their records.

I'm not expecting much (they're getting REALLY old) out of their Jazz Fest appearance but here are some classics:

Don't Worry Baby
California Girls
I Know There's An Answer
All I Wanna Do
God Only Knows

their undenied masterpiece, a pocket of symphony and soul: Good Vibrations

Here's some of my favorites. They're the greatest American band IMO and my 2nd favorite of all time behind The Beatles.

In My Room
Do It Again
Wind Chimes
Good Vibrations
Barbara Ann

The stuff Wilson was doing back then with weaving multiple harmonies together within songs was like Beethoven-level brilliant, imo.

The greatest or most influential American band of all time argument is pretty damn strong for the beach boys.

Took me a bit to post this after you shite on Wilco in that one thread :stillcasty:

I'm not musical enough to figure it all out, but a few years ago on a duet album, Jimmy Buffett recorded with Brian Wilson and found out one of his "secrets". He said he'd never tell, but evidently had something to do with his studio harmonies.

One of the best ones in that regard:

The Warmth of the Sun

This is a sample of a short song BW put on a solo album some years ago that was made up only of his own recorded harmonies. couldn't find the whole thing, so here's the Amazon Sample... One For The Boys
