Romney - give me some reasons to vote for him
Posted by Big12fan on 4/25 at 8:29 pm
I've yet to know 1 person who is passionate about this guy. It seems his greatest strength is that he isn't Obama. I'm looking for positive comments about the man & how his presidency will enrich the country. I tend to vote For a candidate, not against another. I will vote for Ron Paul in the Texas primary, because he is my first choice over all.

So please tell me wonderful things I can expect from Willard if he wins the election this fall. I'm not looking for what he isn't. I want to know what he is and what he is for. Convince me he will be a good president.

if anything, during his reign he's less likely to put a kook on the supreme court

Doubt it can be done.

he is electable. That is all I get when i ask people the same question.

I don't know why that is a good thing.

The only reason he is getting my vote is because he will be appointing 2 people to the Supreme Court. I had rather them be conservative.

Is this a guarantee? Are we positive that two judges will die or quit in the next four years?

Eric holder... And the impending supreme court nominations. Romney will provide both with moderate choices.

It is likely. Not a sure bet by any means.

Well, Ginsberg is 79, Scalia is 76, Kennedy is 75, and Breyer is 73

A few positives I get out of Romney:
1. He's is not BHO
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.

I could go on all night. It doesn't matter who is in the White House as long as it is not Obama. No one will get their agenda passed and get the country into recovery mode until there is a total overhaul on Capitol Hill, IMO. The Congress and House are full of career politicians that are absorbing the benefits of an elected official and working on getting re-elected the whole time they are in office. I have no love for any politician out there whatsoever. I hate what they do, but I do vote every time there is an election.

I dislike him more than I did McCain, that being said he is still far better than BO so he gets my vote.

Point.

However, we can have a liberal President, and a conservative congress and still get a split on multiple judges.

Same goes for vice-versa.

As long as the Executive and Legislative are controlled by two different parties, the Judicial will be fairly even as far as party-line.

It's likely.

If Mittens wins, Scalia will probably retire so a younger conservative can be appointed. If Ogump gets re-elected, Ginsburg will retire so a younger liberal can be appointed.

The big question mark is whether the older justices' health holds up. They might die or be forced into retirement when they don't want to.

Plus if Kennedy retires, we definitely don't want a liberal justice replacing him and tipping the balance long term. We won't recognize this country in ten years. We'll have a solid majority for more decisions like Kelo or upholding the individual mandate...no more economic freedom. Of course the fat cats will be exempt from those rulings because they'll buy off the executive and legislative branches.

not really. You think Obama is going to put a conservative up for a vote? Come on man.

you think a conservative congress will pass an extreme liberal?

Most likely we will get a center-leaning candidate no matter who is President.

Obama has had three years to fix our issues and has resorted to blaming Bush.

Real leaders own up. Obama is not.

He's rich and he's white, do you need more than that inour current situation?

I doubt that Romney would put up someone conservative enough for many unless he went the Mormon route. If he has two, I see one akin to Kennedy and the other like Roberts. It also would depend on the congressional make with the possibility of getting a Souter or Breyer. The old liberal in sheeps clothing

By that logic, Tulane shouldn't have fired Bob Toledo. They had no guarantee of getting anything better.

Fact is, Mittens is the alternative, and the incumbent HAS to go. We know for sure we don't want four more years of the same thing. We're guaranteed to get that with Ogump. There's at least a possibility of Mittens doing some things different. That's enough to make the change.
