Posted by Zach this guy had none and he's gone I've never understood why remorse is important in the penalty phase of a murder case. Shouldn't you be punished for what you did? As opposed to whether you're sorry you did it? I recall a case where a guy raped and murdered a young girl. The jury voted for death. One female juror said later "I was prepared to vote for life in prison. But when he was asked if he had any remorse he flipped the jury the bird." So, raping and murdering a little girl = life. Flipping the bird = death. Ken Hamblin had a great line. When the convicted murderer pleas for his life he often says "Executing me won't bring her back." His answer: "Yes, and letting you live won't bring her back either. It's a wash." Reply Back to Top |
| No executed murderer has ever killed again. Fact ! Reply Back to Top |
quote: No executed murderer has ever come up for a parole hearing or had additional appeals filed either, thus relieving the survivors of having to re-live the experience ever so often. Reply Back to Top |
| The death penalty is about justice not remorse. Some people just don't have the stomach for truth or justice. Reply Back to Top |
