Do yall never put ketchup on steak? Posted by tetu I overcooked some steaks last weekend, medium well-well. Trying to learn my dads new electric grill that he abandoned at the camp (won at a party). I wasnt going to throw them so i ate some of my steak with ketchup, some with bbq sauce. What do you do with overcooke ribeyes, and did i just commit FDB suicide? Reply Back to Top
quote: Assume for the purposes of this post that I've actually overcooked a piece of meat. I'd throw it on a roll with some pepper jack cheese and make a little horseradish mayo to go on top. Reply Back to Top |

I'd make fajitas or something with it before I ate my steak with fricking ketchup. just sounds nasty Reply Back to Top
Ketchup and A1 on a steak=a sin. Salt, pepper, butter is the way to go. Drool worthy video This post was edited on 4/23 at 5:50 pm Reply Back to Top

A) I do not overcook my steaks. B) If I were, I would prefer to soak it in some 57 sauce - not ketchup. Reply Back to Top
If it's overlooked, I have been known to use BBQ sauce. Only Salt Lick BBQ sauce, though. Reply Back to Top

+1 on the cheese steaks. Breakfast burritos: slice thin then cut into smaller pieces and put in scrambled eggs and cheese. Cook the scrambled eggs first and let the residual heat warm your steak as you stir it in. Steak bruschetta: Slice as thin as you can and serve over thinly sliced mozzarella on warm crusty bead (slice the baguette long ways - horizontal then into smaller slices), top steak with tomato bruschetta topping and fresh basil. Served with a side salad it is filling as a meal. I haven't had steak sauce since boot camp. Reply Back to Top
A steak fajita is not complete without ketchup on top of it, IMO. I do not put ketchup on any other cut of steak however. Reply Back to Top
