| re: I find it crazy that people are saying Durant is the MVP this year... I'm thinking I might take a double covered Dirk over a wide open Brian Cardinal any day. Sometimes the defense pushes the shooter outside of the 3 point line and everyone is covered, then the only shot is a long prayer. And hero ball is just standing around with the ball at the 3 point line and hold the ball until the last second and put up a usually well-guarded shot. | The iso is what creates the hero ball. In theory, you want to get your best player with a one-on-one matchup near the end of the game. But their iso was usually near the top of the key, or at least it was against Dallas last year. If they worked it around and got it lower, just the threat of Wade, Lebron, and Bosh would keep a lot of teams off kilter, which I think they have done a better job of this year. When Paul is on the court this year, the Clippers outscore their opponents by 7.6 points per 100 possessions. When he's off the court, they get outscored by 10.2 points.
