Was Trent "allowed" to search for a job instead of being fired?

Either Trent saw the writing on the wall, or LSU helped him to find another job so they wouldn't have to fire him.

Maybe so. One interesting note when we took TJ from Stanford, they never countered. We also did not attempt TJ from leaving. That should say something.

I am thinking he was told it was in his best interest to look for a job. Just seems like this came out of left field and kind of suspiciously similar to how LSU handled Peveto and Mallory.

TCU came after him. He would not have been fired. They just gave him a 1 year extension.
He probably started looking when Justin left.

Financially for him it would have been better to be fired... His annual 200k fund goes bye bye if he resigns but he would get the pro-rated amount if fired
