Rivals 250 CB Tahaan Goodman of California has a strong LSU influence in his family. It's a paid read so I can't see anymore. @scarboroughMike Reply Back to Top
Gino has a article on Goodman on his site. Seems promising for us. Reply Back to Top
I think his grandfather is a fan of LSU and brags on us a lot. He'll visit but he's likely USC bound along with Chris Hawkins(already commited) and Priest Willis. Wouldn't be suprised if Goodman and Willis visited together. Never hurts to get kids on campus plus who knows how fast USC will fill up. Reply Back to Top
I read Mike article and it doesnt give much info but it does talk about his weekend review of The Hunger Games .... Reply Back to Top
Gino interviewed the kid and his mother. Goodman has family in Louisiana. He will visit twice this summer. He contacted LSU to tell them he has an interest. He was impressed that he spoke to Les personally. He was impressed by schemes we run. Mom said she would let him leave California for college. Also said that he and Willis are looking to go to the same school. Reply Back to Top

quote: He actually might be on the outside looking in. We lead for 5* Su'a Cravens, and (many in the SE might not kno), 5* CB Vernon Hargreaves out of Tampa. We're taking either 4 or 5 DBs this year, and Priest Willis and Goodman are on the cusp. Kiffin and staff are so far putting together a stellar class this year. At this point (and it is recruiting so we know how that works) we could very conceivably land 5 of the top 10 of the Rivals top recruits. Reply Back to Top |
Posted by Bosethus68 on 4/7 at 6:09 pm to Jim Rockford Seems like a good 2-for-1 dealReply Back to Top |
the kid is #150 on rivals and #38 on 24/7... he can play Reply Back to Top
Not buying the Hargreaves part. Have read some of the stuff he's said but he's staying in FL unless and OOS major hires his dad. I'm not one that buys wholly into him going to USF if his dad remians there because it's not a major but even in that case UF and FSU are in good shape, especially UF. If his dad gets hired by a major then he could follow for sure. Definitely don't see him going all the way to CA. Kiffin and company always pull a suprise and a kid from FL but I don't think this will be one of them. We'll see though. Also Cravens isn't locked into S. Most feel he'll end up at LB or even RB before S. Either way he's a must get for USC and they probably will. Who is USC going to take over Goodman and Willis? Willis is a top 2 db in the country imo. I actually have him over Hargreaves. Bigger, faster and more athletic. I actually think Mac Alexander is better on film than Hargreaves but wouldn't turn any of them away. Can see USC passing on Goodman maybe because of other S prospects out west but if Willis and Goodman stick with their plan to play together then that would be a tough decision to turn away Willis. It's not like Goodman is a borderline kid. He's a take by every other program. USC just has the numbers issue. Reply Back to Top
Doesn't USCheaters only have 15 schollies to give this year? Reply Back to Top
18 slots this year. 15 plus 3 early enrollees Reply Back to Top

Big difference with those 2 kids but you're point is well understood and I alluded to it earlier that USC always pulls a FL kid. Agholor was a kid always enamored with Kiffin. Kiffin was the 1st coach to ever really recruit him hard. People were talking about Kiffin and Agholor being tied for 3 years. It suprised Gator fans a little but most outside of them all year predicted USC including most of the experts. Williams is a kid that is another of those perfect "Kiffin" kids. A kid that is always blown away by whoever he visits and a guy with questionable decisionmaking skills that falls for the Ogre's tactics. Remember those SC kids they recruited to Tennessee to play on the DL? Same type of kid. Huge boom or bust type. Williams is clearly talented and I'd never wish for him to have nothing but success but I also wouldn't be suprised in the least bit if he transferred in the next year or 2. Buyer's remorse as some call it. Let us know in December if USC still leads for Hargreaves. If they're still a major factor in December then I'll take it more serious. Otherwise the ties to UF and his dad's job are too much. Reply Back to Top
Hargreaves will probably go wherever his dad goes. USF is the safe bet, especially with UF getting their 2nd CB yesterday but if his dad leaves to be an assistant elsewhere he will probably go with him. Reply Back to Top
RLDSC, I understand the part about having kids above Goodman and I alluded to that in my other post as well. The point I was trying to convey is that if Willis and Goodman are dead set on playing together then if no Goodman that means no Willis. In that case you take Goodman over Redfield and the others aside from Craven but he's a take anywhere, anytime. Goodman is too close to the other S prospects on the board to pass on if he brings Willis as well. Willis/Goodman is better than Redfield/anyone else as a CB/S combo. That was more the point. If the 2 kids decide to separate then none of it matters but it seems they are inseparable and I think the Hawkins take just set the stage for them to take Willis and Goodman as well. Hard to tell with USC though. Their board changes a lot over the course of the year. Either way you guys will get a very nice group of DBs. This discussion is just fun. Reply Back to Top Refresh
