| can you sort through all the covers of Yesterday and link the best. reportedly there are only about 1,500+ different covers. shouldnt take that long. thought to be the most covered song in music history Reply Back to Top |
My favorite cover of "Yesterday" is by Eva Cassidy (see OP) It's based on the Ray Charles version but w/o the grunting Reply Back to Top |
| yeah, i saw it listed in OP. just curious if you have heard them all. and just making a point how often the beatles were covered (rightfully so) Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yes I have heard them all On reflection I think my favorite was #642 Reply Back to Top |
quote: seriously though, what song (beatles or not) do you think you have heard the most different covers? i think mine would have to be Key to the Highway - Derek and the dominoes is my favorite (didnt want to link it, since this is beatles thread)...and based on the post i have seen you have the last few days, you already know the song and version i speak of Reply Back to Top |
| Off the top of my head, a wild guess for songs of the R&R era with most cover versions: "Louie Louie" "Love Me Tender" "Something" "Blowin' In The Wind" "Bridge Over Troubled Water" "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" "Where Did Our Love Go" Reply Back to Top |

| Surprisingly good cover of I am the Walrus by Jim Carey (with George Martin). You could actually argue Carey may have captured the spirit of the song better than Lennon did by turning that psychedelic/psychotic vibe up a notch. Jim Carey--I Am The Walrus I love that he ends with "There!? I did it! I DEFILED A TIMELESS PEICE OF ART." Reply Back to Top |

| I'll side with George Martin that is wasn't a painful waste of time. Reply Back to Top |
