quote: At the very least, he would replace the heads of much of the federal government's bureaucracy. This change of leadership would result in a huge reduction in the regulatory burden on industry. In Louisiana's chemical industry alone, there are $9 billion worth of projects (new plants, expansions, ect.) that are on hold waiting to see if Obama gets reelected (I heard this from employees of Louisiana Chemical Association). All of these projects are planned to begin if Obama is not reelected. One industry in one state. If this trend holds true even a little bit across the country, we're talking a major economic jumpstart resulting from a Romney win in November. If you combine a Romney win with a SCOTUS repeal of Obamacare in its entirety, then we could see a recovery of the likes we haven't seen in over a decade. Even if Romney isn't all that different policy-wise (NEOCON foreign policy, no reduction in federal spending, no changes to entitlements, ect.), this is alone a pretty good reason to vote for anyone over Obama. | I've never seen Republicans so united on the one issue of getting rid of Obama. And yet, the list of candidates they've run out there is pathetic. Why would you want to continue to support a party where the best candidates don't run? From Bachmann to Perry to Cain to Santorum, it been like a reality show for dysfunctional politicians. Obama is the most vulnerable sitting Prez running for re-election since Jimmy Carter, and with hugely unpopular issues like health care and spending, the Republican Party appears to be inept at taking advantage of the negativity that seems to constantly surround Obama. | I voted for Romney in the Republican primary leading up to the '08 election because I thought he was the most qualified candidate and I still believe he is. I don't give a damn about his religion and though he is a bit more liberal on social issues than I like, I much prefer someone who has proven business savvy than the unqualified, black racist, Socialist, Obama. The truth is the U.S. economy is recovering in spite of Obama's anti-business policies rather than because of them. We will never know, but if Romney had been elected POTUS back in '08, the economy might be pretty much back on track with a much smaller deficit. Reply Back to Top |

| If you're a conservative then why don't you vote for one? Why do you vote for people that don't represent your beliefs? That seems counterintuitive and counterproductive. Reply Back to Top |
quote: If American politics were only that simple. The key in 2012 is to remove the fraud obama from office. There is no conservative seeking the presidency capable of achieving that goal. Therefor I will vote for Mitt Romney since he is the best hope we, and I mean all of us, have to forgo four more years of obama's incompetence. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Agreed agreed agreed. With as much shite as the rest of us have had to hear about conservativism or smaller government, the least people could do is actually support a candidate who will address those issues (and not support someone who they hope will be less worse than the current). | In politics you have to be pragmatic if nothing else. Yes, I would like to see a true conservative in the White House but that is not going to happen in 2012. Its not going to happen. so I look to the next best scenario and that's removing Obama. I may not realize my first goal but if the country finds the brain stem it misplaced in 2008 I might realize my second option. Reply Back to Top |
| Assuming that the majority of posters on this board live in La. it really doesn't matter. Romney will beat Obama by 15 points easily. Reply Back to Top |
| Don't count out the "Mormon factor." Romney was was the equivalent of a Bishop in his church. Ha gives them a lot of money. People accuse Obama of building a secret army, but it's Romney who has the army. The Mormon Bots are fired up and ready to go. Reply Back to Top |

quote: I ask a serious question about Romney. WHAT THE HELL WILL HE BE FOR AFTER HE'S IN OFFICE? On any topic. Will he go back into Iraq or not. Will he try to end abortion or will he not? Will he privatize SS, or not? "He's better than Obama" is evidence of desperation, imv. This post was edited on 4/6 at 3:32 pm Reply Back to Top Refresh |
