| DA - What do you think this staff taught their players about opposing teams.....or, hell how they even treated their own.  Sad thing is, one of them goes down as one of the best coaches ever. | Let me add that I attended my first Saints game when I was in high school. It was in the old sugar bowl. We were all excited. The saints had won a game or two, and the Dolphins were coming to town. Before the first quarter ended, Greiese and that bunch fillet the Saints like a salmon. It was 21-0 in the first qtr if I remember correctly. Reply • Back to Top |
| DA-I'm not saying what was on the GW tape wasn't wrong. It was. But you have to look at what happened on the field. The Saints were the ones beaten up in that game. | There was no ethics in the game when I was playing with my friends at school. We were some cheating son of a bitches. When I played soccer at school, every goal scored would be followed by a 20 minute argument about the validity of the goal. Also, the NFL was a lot nastier 20 years ago. | remember when the NFL produced a video called The Big Hit. No a days players like ronnie lott howie long ed too tall jones LT the entire steelers defense from the 70's the entire vikings DL from the late 60's to 70's pretty much any defensive player from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. remember when a LB or CB could come up and decleat a WR going across the middle (ask keyshone johnson). | I heard a lot worse playing back in the day. We were also told every week something along the lines of so and so has a knee problem, so and so has a bad toe, etc. No bounties, of course, but these were defineatly pointed out by our coaches. Reply • Back to Top • Refresh |
