Howard remains in a surgical boot, which he has worn since having surgery to clear up an infection. He may not be able to return until late May or early June.

News: Chase Utley has been sent to a knee specialist because he's hit a "plateau" in his rehab.
Impact: At least, that's the way the Phillies described the situation Monday morning in a statement to reporters. Utley has experienced complications with his chronic right knee condition since the start of spring training and has yet to make an appearance in a Grapefruit League game. It's safe to say he's now questionable (or even doubtful) for Opening Day.

Kansas City relief pitcher Joakim Soria left in the fifth inning of Sunday's Cactus League outing against Cleveland with an aching right elbow. He retired only one of the five batters and threw only seven strikes in 16 pitches. “I worry because I’ve had Tommy John surgery (in 2003),” Soria said. “I never had that before. I don’t feel like it’s that bad. When I felt the Tommy John surgery all my strength went away. This time it doesn’t. Obviously, I was not finishing my pitches or having command.” He will be examined the next two days to learn the extent of the injury.
